At Night, Lights Fells and Loved Ones returned Home

The ever charming Monsieur Edwin Ushiro will be opening his first solo exhibition in New York
this coming wednesday. Whenever I see his work in person, it honestly sparks soo much wonder in me, he's definitely one of the truest creative minds I've known. I wish I could make it down to NYC to see the show. If you're in North America you should try and make it out...more specifically in the New york area, this is one not to be missed.

I forgot to mention, that the 'Divinations and Butterflies' is available as a wallpaper.

My dear friend Erika had asked me to take part in her wallpaper archive site called 'Canvas'. The site already has some great wallpapers on there, and will be featuring some great artists very soon. Thanks Erika for putting this all together. Go grab yours! They're free!

Divinations and Butterflies

I recently watched this film about the life of a journalist, who had a condition called 'locked-in syndrome' after he suffers from a massive stroke. The film was truly beautiful, as it depicted the journalist's perspective on the world after his stroke. I wanted to do an illustration about it.

It really had me thinking a lot about what it must be like to feel such a divide, i mean even though he was paralyzed, and his body was so still, his mind was so vibrant and flourishing with thoughts and ideas. Something I found beautiful and tragic.

'Divinations and Butterflies'
mixed media and digital. 17" × 8.5"

I wanted to try something a little different with this one, I'd love to hear what you think. :)

Thanks for stopping by!

City Livin'

Show & Tell Gallery will be hosting a great two-person show called 'CityScrapes', which will feature all new work from Ryan Dineen and Jacques Oulé. I was pretty blown away with Ryan's work from this last solo, back in the summer, and I got a chance to see one of the pieces from this show while i was in the gallery...and 'long story short', you have to see the work in person. It's ridiculous.

The show opens this Friday March 5th. If you're going to be in Toronto, you should definitely go check it out!

There ain't no party like an SClub---Show & Tell Gallery party!

Thanks for stopping by!
