Wolverine & Jubilee # 2

The second issue of Wolverine and Jubilee comes out today. I wanted to say thanks so much for all the messages and for everyone that went out to their local comic book shops and specifically requested my cover. The first issue SOLD OUT and has now gone into it's second printing (WOOOOO!), so you should be able to get your hands on a copy soon.

A few other little bits of news, 

I was recently invited to started blogging over at Illostop. There are a lot of really talented illustrators contributing including Chris Whetzel, Victo Ngai, Jason Raish, Edward Kinsella and many more. I'm really proud to be in such great company. I posted a few days ago discussing the process for the covers, feel free to check it out and have a read through the other articles.

Phil Noto, SPECTACULAR comic book artist, is having a solo show in NYC this month. Here's a link. If you guys could do me a solid and go check out the show in my stead, that would be really rad of you.  

I'll be attending quite a few conventions and expos this year, along with a few shows in the works, and some really fun new projects, but more on that later.

Wolverine & Jubilee # 1

I'm so very proud to let you know that the first issue of Wolverine and Jubilee is out now, and you can pick up a copy at your local comic book shoppe. As this is sort of big reunion for these two characters, we wanted to have something that really set the tone, and still payed homage to the two's original pairing. Thanks to Jeanine and Jody for all the direction! Kathryn Immonen has done a wonderful job with the writing and Mr. Phil Noto's interior are just spectacular! You should definitely have a read! (Oh and pick up Uncanny X-Force too. It's ridiculous!)

Nu Yawk Nu Yawk

Holy Moley! What an amazing way to set off the new year!

Last week I traveled down to New York City with my main man Andrew.
I know it's something that's said by everyone who travels there, but it really is such an amazing city. I'm still on a bit of a high from the trip. The scale of the everything is what gets to me. Not only in the sense of size, but it's just such a huge place with so much room, you want to try and fill it with all your ambitions. And you can never out grow it either.  I think that's what leaves me with this great feeling...that and all the food, art, people, drinks, culture, etc.

This was the first time I'd been able to travel to NYC for work as well as for pleasure, which was a fantastic change of pace.

We were in town for the Society of Illustrators 53: Sequential and Uncommissioned Award gala, where I received a Silver Medal for my '&' piece.

I said it that night (in a very haphazard non-Denzel Washington style speech), but I just wanted to say it again here...to be recognized for an award is incredible. But to be recognized for an award by my peers, is truly an honour. Thank you so much to the Society, the jury, and to all my fellow exhibitors. It was really humbling to have my work be apart of such an amazing show.

Do U Niq Lo?

Not to get into this too much, but this place is seriously overwhelming we had to make two trips.

We were lucky enough to be able to visit the New Marvel head offices and grab lunch my AMAZING editors Jeanine and Jody. This really is the place where dreams come true! 

The wise and talented Victo Ngai...always the picture of grace and poise.

One of our lovely servers, Courtney, who spent the entire night tempting us with tasty treats.

A great time was had by all! We got to meet up with Martin, who also took home a very well deserved Silver Medal that night.

We spent out last day in NYC visiting Marty's studio in Brooklyn before heading out to his opening in Chelsea, and then onto the rest of the evenings 'frivolities'.

Thanks again to Martin, Billy, Matt, Jeanine, Jody and everyone who showed us so much hospitality through out our trip! And a HUGE thank you to Andrew for being just the raddest. You're a Prince, bro!

A new year. time for new fears. and cheers.

A bid farewell to twenty-ten. Thank you for all the incredible opportunity, and friendships that you brought. There aren't enough words to say it, and I will certainly forget someone if I try, but a thank you to all the AD's, galleries, clients, fellow artists, and bloggers for all the work, positivity, press and collaboration. Thank you to all the collectors who have supported my work this year. Whether you purchased a print, or a piece of original work. I am soo grateful for all your continued support. To all the fans of the Facebook page, Twitter, and Tumblr followers, I've had the pleasure of meeting many of you this year, and many have become friends, thank you all.
