Canadian Wildlife Magazine

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you've all said your farewells to our dearest 2012, and are now taking the time to make 2013 feel right at home. I had a lot to be grateful for last year. A lot. This year seems to be shaping up as well.

I'm really happy to have two illustrations in the Jan/Feb issue of Canadian Wildlife Magazine (Biosphère en français). The article is about a new study that indicates that animals may have a more developed sense of self consciousness that we'd initially assumed, perhaps not to the same degree of self-awareness that we possess, but similarly. It also discusses the possibilities of what this could mean for the human-animal relationship in the future.

The book also has beautiful works from my fellow canucks (who are equally beautiful) Pete Ryan and Jacqui Oakley.

Many many thanks to AD Steve Balaban for the opportunity!
