Knight Sights
No dailies for this weekend as I'll be heading down to Toronto (for a feast of epic proportions). I'll be sure to make up for the missed days.
I also wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone that spread the news/commented and most of all purchased some of the new product from the store! Thank you all sooo much!
In case you missed it, be sure to visit my store to see everything that's available.
**Come out to the show at Narwhal Art Projects tonight. We can drink and be merry ;)
Have a great weekend everyone!

WELL HELLO CHRISTMAS SHOPPERS!
Hey there,
I just wanted to let everyone know that my website shop is now full of brand new products!
Featuring three new zines, a show catalogue, limited edition Gocco prints, and a new limited edition Giclee print!! Just in time for the Holiday season!! Here are a few previews of what's available,
Head on over to my Store section for a more detailed look at these and all the other products that are available. Nothing says I "love/like/care/we're co-workers" like a print or zine from Nimit Malavia! So give the gift they'll really want this holiday season!
Thanks everyone!

Lost Boys
These didn't turn out the way I intended but I guess that's kind of the point of the dailies. On to the next one.
**Woops, I meant to post these yesterday. I'd better pay more attention to the AM and PM on the scheduling options. Well, since were all already here, Happy Sunday!

Dead Poets Society
Alright, let's try this again.
I got off to a bit of a false start last week with my 30 dailies; I carelessly injured my arms, while in the middle of a deadline. So let's see if we can do it right this time. For well over a month now Tessar has been posting a daily drawing/painting/something and it inspired me to do the same. If you haven't seen it you should go check them out on this Fanpage, he's posted them all there. Also be sure to have a look at Irma's blog for her sweet set of daily posts.
In other news... Firstly, a sincere thank you to all the fans of the Fanpage! The numbers seem to be growing daily, and it means a lot to see the support. For all of those who aren't on facebook, I wanted to share with you the news that I posted there. Recently, I've been hired by Marvel to do the covers for the new Wolverine and Jubilee series. It's a dream for me, and I'm super excited about this! (especially since I found out that Phil Noto will be doing the interior artwork for the series!) I hope to share them with you very soon.
Here's a link to the article if you want to have a look.
In other good news, I recently found out that I received the Silver Medal from the Society of Illustrators for my piece '&', along with having 2 of my pieces selected for the exhibition and book. I will be heading down to NYC to attend the opening reception on January 7th, 2011. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there!
Whatta way to set off the Holiday Season!!
Take care.

I Can Blog Zine.
Hey all,
okay so I know Canzine was few weeks ago, BUT I've been out of town (at the happiest place on earth!)...so do you could do me a solid, and pretend like this just happened last weekend? okay? Cool!
*time travel sound effect*
WOW, whatta weekend! Bro-ad trip, Birthday, Concert and Canzine, oh my! I was lucky enough to have my Birthday and Canzine fall on the same weekend, and also lucky for me, I had two awesome bros who were willing to take a Road-trip down (bros + road trip = bro-ad trip).
Canzine
This year was great! I had the pleasure of sharing a table with Tessar and Peter.... People would show up and feed us delicious treats! (it sounds awkward, but it was delicious). Something new about this year was that the fine folks at Brokenpencil decided to throw us a little pre-Canzine party, where we had the chance to meet some of our fellow exhibitors, talk shop, drink and be merry! Thanks BP! I had a few new products available this year, including two new zines, buttons, prints, postcards, catalogs and a few other goodies.

Friends from far and wide came out. Look at Ryan, look how happy he looks!
Here are some of my zines that were available. If you're interested in getting a copy, they'll be available on my store very soon, so stay tuned.
Part of my sweet score from this year.Part deux of my sweet score.
Some of Brittany, Vicki and Phil's sweet zines!
This is Brittany. She is VERY excited about Movember.
This photo has a little treasure hidden away, can you spot it??
We decide to hit up Poutini's Queen afterwards for a very, very satisfying meal.
Om nom nom.
Thanks so much to everyone that came out and picked up a print or a zine. Here are some photos that Peter took from the day. And if you want to see more photos from Canzine or my trip to Toronto feel free to visit my flickr page. See you guys next year!

Don't go chasing waterfalls.
I had the great pleasure recently to design a set of T-shirts for the kayaking company, Tribe Riders, which features some incredible talents including Patrick Camblin, Rush Sturges and more. These designs were a lot of fun to work on; besides a few concepts that they wanted in particular, I was given total freedom with these. Here are the five designs:
Many thanks to Pat for the project! Hope you're having an awesome time in China, dude!
Thanks for stopping by!
Check out the Rider of the Year videos to see some of what they do over at Tribe.

And if you happen to find yourself on the West coast, you should A) try and hang out with Tessar and B) Head on over to LeBasse Projects for the opening of Nate's new solo titled, "I should know who I am by now". Have a look at the beautiful promo video done by the talented and incredibly kind Jeremy Asher Lynch.
Be well everyone. See you soon.

Here are a few shows you might want to check out this weekend:
My man Brian Donnelly will be having his solo exhibition at Show & Tell Gallery, along with the much talked about Winnie Truong. Brian is an awesome guy, and I've only heard amazing things about both Winnie's and his work for the show. If you're in Toronto, you should take sometime out of your busy night for yourself, and go see the shows. you deserve it. *wink*

Zine- o - phobia
Hey everyone,
Hope you're all enjoying this wonderful Sunday morning! I just wanted to let everyone know that I will be taking part in CANZINE today. I'll have a lot of brand new product available, including zines, buttons, misc. If it's anything like last year, you're not going to want to miss out on all the action.
It's taking place at The Great Hall on Queen street, visit the Broken Pencil site for more information.
And if by chance you are plagued by Xenophobia, and were offended by my post title, come see me at Canzine and I'll personally apologize with some free swag and love.
Hugs and Kisses/ Zines and princes,
N

NOTE: I'm totally blown away by the response my Fanpage contest is getting! You people either really love my work, or are fiends for free stuff!! (im guessing its the former ;-) ) In either case the contest is still going strong, if you haven't had a chance to enter head on over to the fanpage to get in on it.

Oh hello,
I didn't see you there.
It's been a long time since we last spoke... How are you?
A few months back, I had the good fortune to be asked to take part in a show at Compound Gallery in Portland, Oregon. I have the pleasure of showcasing my work along with two fellow illustrators Martin Hsu and Jade Klara. Here are two of the six pieces that I've contributed to the show:

this feels a bit like a confessional (I wouldn't know for sure), I'm a hoarder. A hoarder of experience, expression and moments. Moments and memories that can either be shared with others or held onto, for myself. It's the sort of thing that I wonder about, I see others sharing their experience and stories so freely that it seems like lessons learned- for anyone whose listening; Whether the sharing of knowledge, or the outpouring of thought is what fuels their desire and drive; For me I hold self-confidence and inspiration close to my chest, I feel like I need it. I can't openly release stories and experience to the ether, it would shatter like the black to light. or bats to bright. I don't think they can hold together on their own, so I'll hang onto them. a little longer. collecting. handling. holding. till they stick. And stand on their own.
Like the bridge to a song. when the noise falls away. you'll find something unexpected. something. new.
I hoard. I guess. I do, so I can assemble. Eye spy, with my little I.

Sweet Sights
Wow, this weekend totally snuck up on me...I didn't even realize it was the 10th until I checked my google reader and saw Tess' post. This weekend is jam packed with some great openings!
*After reading this, if anyone's feeling particularly generous and has a wicked frequent flyer plan, I would be more than happy to help you get the most out of your miles.
My friends Edwin and Yoskay's show at Roq la Rue gallery will be opening tonight, in Seattle. Here's a preview of their work. As per usual, Edwin and Yosk never cease to amaze.
goodluck guys! Omedetou gozaimasu!
おめでとうございます。
If your looking for something sweet and happen to find yourself on the west coast this weekend, Nucleus will be hosting the follow up to their hugely success Sweet Streets show, with Sweet Street II. (sidebar- every time I read the title i think of Street Fighter II) The charming and xylish Tessar and Yuta have each contributed a few pieces to the show, and posted some previews of the work on their sites, head on over to have a look. The work is looking quite fresh !
And finally back on the east coast, my homeboys at Show & Tell Gallery will be opening a brand new solo show by Dan Bergeron. Some of you who are more "hip" to the streets might know him as Fauxreel. The work is great! I got to see some of the pieces from the show when I visited the gallery last week.
You should go see them. In person. Tonight. At Show and Tell gallery. Dundas and Ossington. Around 7 to 11. Yes I'm telling you what to do. I only want the best for you. Love. Nimit.
